About these terms
These Terms govern your use of Afterglow. They apply together with the Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
Our shared standard. Afterglow is for adult companionship after work, not harassment, exploitation, scams, or hook-ups. Be real, respect consent and boundaries, and use the report and block tools if something feels wrong.
1. Eligibility and acceptance
You must be at least 18 years old to use Afterglow. By using the service, you confirm that you meet this requirement, can enter into these Terms, and will comply with applicable law. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Your account
Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity through your account unless you tell us promptly about unauthorized use. Do not create an account for someone else, impersonate another person, circumvent an enforcement action, or use the service for commercial solicitation without our written permission.
3. Rooms, connections, and member content
Rooms are moderated social spaces. Respect the room’s stated purpose, host instructions, contribution requirements, and other members’ boundaries. You choose whether to send a connection request after a room; no connection is created until both people agree. Do not pressure anyone to move to another app or share contact details before that mutual connection exists.
You remain responsible for text, images, audio, and other material you post or send. You give Afterglow the limited permission needed to host, display, transmit, moderate, and remove that content to operate and protect the service. You must have the rights needed to share it, and you must not post another person’s private information without their permission.
4. Community rules and prohibited conduct
Do not use Afterglow to:
- harass, bully, threaten, stalk, shame, or discriminate against anyone;
- publish hate speech or content targeting people based on protected characteristics;
- share sexual, exploitative, non-consensual, or graphic content, including sexualized images of anyone under 18;
- request money, run scams, impersonate a business or person, distribute spam, or promote unapproved commercial services;
- encourage self-harm, violence, illegal activity, or dangerous behavior;
- record, copy, scrape, redistribute, or publicly disclose room or member content without permission; or
- interfere with the service, bypass security, or attempt to access another person’s account or private data.
These rules are explained in more detail in the Community Guidelines. Follow the stricter rule if these Terms and a room-specific rule differ.
5. Moderation, reports, and appeals
We may use automated filters, real-time voice safety-risk checks, member reports, and human review to enforce these Terms and keep the service safe. We may remove content, limit visibility, end a room, restrict features, suspend, or permanently remove an account when we reasonably believe a rule, law, or safety requirement has been violated.
Use the Report and Block tools for suspected violations. Reporting does not guarantee a particular result, but we review reports under our moderation process. If you believe we made an enforcement error, you may request a review by emailing karlarosen58@icloud.com with relevant details. We may preserve information needed to investigate reports or comply with law.
6. Chill and purchases
Chill is a non-cash digital credit that may be used only within Afterglow for gifts, shared room effects, and publishing eligible theme nights. Chill is not money, has no cash value, and cannot be withdrawn, transferred, resold, or exchanged for cash or anything outside the service.
Purchases are offered through the relevant app store and are subject to that store’s terms, pricing, taxes, and refund rules. We grant purchased Chill only after the store confirms the transaction. For a store refund request, follow the store’s refund process; you may also contact karlarosen58@icloud.com for purchase support. Except where law requires otherwise, unused Chill is not refundable.
7. Service availability and changes
We work to keep Afterglow available and safe, but the service may change, be interrupted, or be unavailable at times. We may modify or discontinue features when reasonably necessary for safety, legal, technical, or business reasons. We do not guarantee that rooms, members, content, or any feature will always be available.
8. Ending use of the service
You can stop using Afterglow at any time and request account deletion in Settings. We may suspend or terminate access as described in these Terms. Sections that by their nature should continue after use ends, including responsibility for content, enforcement, dispute, and legal provisions, continue to the extent allowed by law.
9. Disclaimers and limits
Afterglow is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Members, rooms, and content are not endorsed by Afterglow, and you are responsible for your interactions and decisions. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law. To the extent permitted by law, Afterglow is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service.
